The federal grand jury that handed down an indictment of Joplin businesswoman Peggy Newton on 25 fraud and forgery charges last week, also brought indictments against armed robbers and pornographers, among others.
Documents filed last week in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri indicate the following were indicted, in addition to Mrs. Newman:
-Thomas Soucy, 66, who between March 17 and April 6, 2009, "knowingly attempted to transfer obscene material to someone under 16.
-Donald Nations, 33, Gary Nations, 39, and Edward Self, 32, who are charged with interfering with commerce by threat or violence, for their roles in the December 8, 2010, robbery of the Dollar Store in Seneca. The indictment says the three threatened to shoot people during the heist.
-Andrew Olson, 23, received child pornography between May 1, 2007, and October 27, 2010, in Barry County.
-David Bruce Shryock, 48, was charged with being a felon in possession of firearms.
