State treasurer to be in Joplin Tuesday to make tornado-related announcements

(The following media advisory was issued today by State Treasurer Clint Zweifel.)

State Treasurer Clint Zweifel will be in Joplin on Tuesday, July 19, to announce an emergency small business loan in the afternoon and unveil an Unclaimed Property Search Kiosk in the morning.

From 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., Treasurer Zweifel will unveil a new Unclaimed Property Search Kiosk, which will allow individuals at the Department of Revenue License Office in Joplin to search for their Unclaimed Property and file claims while they are renewing their driver license or license plates. In April, Columbia became the first Missouri city to have a kiosk – $20,000 has already been claimed at the kiosk.

At 1:30 p.m., Treasurer Zweifel will announce a small business loan to Sign Designs, a full-service sign creation and installation company, directly affecting 18 local jobs. The loan received 24-hour emergency approval, and the company is staying in Joplin.

Treasurer Zweifel will also be touring tornado damage and cleanup with the National Guard and hosting a small business roundtable while in Joplin.
