“Although a solution to the Israeli, Palestinian conflict may well include the recognition of a Palestinian state, the unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state by the general assembly of the United Nations may actually discourage meaningful negotiations which are the true path to a lasting resolution of the conflict.
“Any solution in the region must recognize the legitimacy of the Israel as well as a Palestinian State and the consequence of not doing so is likely to bring forth increased conflict due to unfounded and unrealistic expectations by such a hollow declaration.”
