Charges: Jasper teacher's aide had sex with students

A former Jasper High School teacher's aide who has been charged with felony counts of statutory rape and statutory sodomy has posted $5,000 bond, according to the Jasper County Sheriff's Department

The following news release was issued by the department:

Janice Lorene Rusk, 42, of Jasper, Missouri has been charged with one count each of statutory rape and statutory sodomy in an ongoing investigation by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation began in March after the Sheriff’s Office received information that Rusk, a Jasper High School employee, had sexual contact with several students. Further charges are expected as the investigation progresses. Rusk was booked into the Jasper County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

The Charges for which the above were arrested are mere accusations and is not evidence of guilt. Evidence is support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence

Ms. Rusk no longer works for the Jasper R-5 School District.
