Mercy, Freeman record largest number of COVID-19 cases to date, Joplin adds 40 cases in 24 hours

 

The latest COVID-19 outbreak showed no signs of abating today as the largest number of COVID-19 patients to date, 62, were being treated at Mercy and Freeman hospitals, according to statistics posted by the Joplin Health Department.

The total hospitalized was 51 the previous day.







Ten of those patients were from Joplin, down from 11 the day before.

The number of active cases increased from 208 to 225 and the number of people who are under quarantine jumped from 310 to 357.

Joplin has recorded 23 deaths due to COVID-19.
