(From the Springfield-Greene County Health Department)Like a lot of things in 2020, Halloween is going to look a little different this year. But that doesn’t mean the holiday can’t be both safe and fun.
The Springfield-Greene County Health Department has released guidance for Halloween to help organizations, neighborhoods and families navigate the challenges brought on by COVID-19.
The guidance includes a list of lower risk alternatives to traditional Halloween activities, guidance for trick-or-treating, trunk-or-treating and for those passing out candy.
The key to a healthy Halloween plan should include the three w’s: wash your hands, wear a mask and watch your distance.

As families begin to plan for future holiday celebrations, the Health Department will offer considerations to help protect individuals, their children, families, friends and communities from COVID-19 with the best available knowledge and expertise.
If an organization, neighborhood or church decides to move forward with an event, they are encouraged to contact the Health Department to discuss their plans for reducing the risk of COVID-19 exposure at coronavirus@springfieldmo.gov.
