Preliminary hearing scheduled, bond reduced for Tilt Studios employee charged with statutory rape, sodomy

A 10 a.m. January 6 preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Joplin man charged with one count of statutory rape, two counts of statutory sodomy and one count of furnishing pornographic material to a minor.

During a December 1 hearing, Judge Joseph Hensley reduced the bond for Robert L. Buggey, 37, from $100,000 cash and $100,000 surety to $50,000 cash and $50,000 surety.

Jasper County Jail records indicate Buggey has not posted bond.

Buggey was an employee of Tilt Studios at Northpark Mall Joplin at the time of his arrest.

According to the probable cause statement, the crimes allegedly took place with a girl who was under age 12, at a friend's home during June and July and involved Buggey showing the child pornography on his phone and then convincing her to do the same sexual acts that were in the video.
