Joplin man with connections to Joplin Honkies indicted on weapons charges

A federal grand jury indicted a Joplin man known to be connected to the  Joplin Honkies gang today on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to the indictment, Douglas Eugene Alexius, 46, Joplin, possessed a Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol on October 9 in Newton County.

Online Newton County Circuit Court records indicate that was the day the Missouri State Highway Patrol cited Alexius for felony unlawful possession of a firearm, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, failure to register a motor vehicle, failing to wear protective headgear while on a motorcycle and displaying the plates of another person.

The Highway Patrol accident report said Alexius was injured in a one-vehicle accident 1:25 a.m. on Greenwood Drive two miles southwest of Joplin.

According to the report, the 2002 Harley Davidson driven by Alexius, 46, skidded on the roadway and overturned. Alexius was treated for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

Former Newton County Sheriff Ken Copeland said Alexius was a member of the Honkies after Alexius was arrested March 1, 2016 at 1174 Crane Drive, Joplin. At the time of his arrest, Alexius was wanted on numerous felony charges, including vehicle theft and assaulting a law enforcement officer.

Three years later in April 2019, FBI agents and Newton County deputies searched a pond at that location after uncovering evidence that linked that address to Sarah Burton, Joplin, who has been missing since July 16, 2018.

8 days in a coma is not moderate injuries, it is a serious injury. He has a major brain injury. He was tased by a Kansas officer in Missouri after the wreck occurred which I am sure didn’t help his condition. Why include anything about sarah burton in this news story? One has nothing to do with the other….what are you insinuating? They have searched lots of places for her.

Agreed what does either incident have to do with one another??? The story itself states he was arrested in 2016 and Sarah Burton did not go missing until 2018. If you are going to add pointless information to the story to carry on the exaggerated reputation the police and media have given him it would only be fair to state facts such as the two I have already mentioned. Now here are a couple more facts…. If you see in the videos posted by the media Mr. Alexius is standing at times standing on one foot, he is walking and you can even hear him talk. How does he go from that to 8days in a coma??? Good question but since we are speculating one may assume that it was police brutality?!?! Maybe the female officer took it to far maybe to try to impress her boyfriend who is a Quapa Marshall (if anyone is wondering, I’m sure is the reason we see them in the video too. Maybe she was on her phone to the boyfriend and didn’t see he was going to make a left turn and hit him..why did she feel she needed to taser him after he lay injured. Something else to think about is the charge for not wearing proper head protection….hello no helmet law!!! Which shows they try to hammer him with anything even unlawful things they can. And I’m speculating that they have an vendetta because they l look like complete idiots for tearing up a single mother and her children’s home to the point the home was torn down and fbi had to pay for the damages back in 2015 after a 24 hour standoff with a pet rabbit because there trained officers insisted he was inside which he was not and had not been there. His affiliation with Joplin Honkeys was years ago and a big part of inmates become affiliated while incarcerated it’s just something that goes on in there. The guy is not a thief the charges from 2016 of stolen vehicle turns out Newton county had that charge wrong. I’m not saying he’s a saint but are you?? I’m not saying there shouldn’t be consequences to peoples actions. But tell me how many people have you offered help to in some way or another??? I never not one time ever didn’t run into him that he wasn’t helping just helped Or headed help a friend or stranger in need. A good journalist would cover all the facts and maybe bring attention to where it needs to be and in this instance needs to be focused on the the Cherokee county officer who is a bully behind that badge. She is an evil ugly person and it’s no secret a few of her colleagues will tell you the same. I guess you can’t get the facts on obituaries wrong to the point it sticks with them for life at least that’s something you have gotten right.

My question is, why is this guy out running around. Yes, his background needs to be known. As soon I read his name I remembered the man hunt that was going on for this piece of crap. These are the type of people that do not and have shown they will lot change. Yes, he has been around multiple crimes and parts of organized crime that puts the general public and people that he had been around end up hurt, missing and possibly dead. This guy should not have been out. Personally, it’s too bad he didn’t die from his injuries.

Just saw this report on the news. They gave a time line of Mr Alexius career charges. It seems it is relevant to the story and why he was indicted. He hasn’t changed. Is this the guy they used to call the “ghost”?

100% agreed!

I do not even have to see your picture to clearly see that you are an ugly person. How can you call someone that you do not even know a Piece of crap and in the same paragraph say they should have died in an accident. Correct me if I am wrong but isn’t that an oxy moronic statement??

Again agreed a time line is relevant to the story but where I find an issue is how he tries to paint a picture I’m the readers minds that Doug Alexius is in anyway connected to the disappearance of Sarah Burton. That Is disturbing and wrong not only for Mr Alexius and his family but for the Burton family to possibly be led astray based on someone getting arrested an address that was searched for Sarah 3 years later and the arrest was 2 years after the arrest which he was clearly incarcerated at time of the disappearance.
And yes he was dubbed “Ghost” because after a 20 some hour stand off after the fbi completely destroyed a woman’s home he was not in there. Here is the spoiler to that name. He was never in the house they were in a standoff with a pet rabbit and then two weeks later they acted on a tip and served another search warrant where different “Douglas “ lived and Mr Alexius had not been. If that doesn’t hit hard on the credibility of the eager law enforcement then i don’t know what would.
Now let me ask this … are you really going to sit back and say that you don’t think that newton and Cherokee county don’t have a grudge for the guy?? That being the case he was probably scared to pullover late at night in a rural area. And we don’t know that the officer didn’t force him to wreck . After all the first report said the gun was found a few feet away and he was crawling toward it now they say it was in his pocket. Im not going to look like an idiot and say he is a saint and be in denial but come on people facts are facts lies are lies and the media trying to throw him in front of a firing squad going off of exaggerated media stories is unjust but I guess that is why ball of the haters are just that washed up never has been anything but jealous ugly judgmental rejects .
