The Joplin Globe received five awards at the annual Missouri Press Association Better Newspaper Contest awards luncheon held Saturday in Springfield.
The Globe's awards included first places for general excellence in Classes 4 and 5, the two largest classes and to Roger Nomer for best feature story.
Nomer also received a second place in best feature photos.
The other Globe awards were a second place for best front page and third place for best overall design.
