Diamond R-4 Board names executive superintendent

(From the Diamond R-4 School District)

At its special May board meeting, the Diamond R-IV Board of Education formally approved a leadership transition plan designed to support the district’s continued focus on academic success, financial stability, and operational continuity. As part of this plan, the Board has appointed Dr. Bill Redinger to serve as Executive Superintendent for the 2025–2026 school year.

Dr. Redinger will serve in this role through the Missouri School Boards Association’s (MSBA) Superintendent Search Program, a structured leadership support initiative that assists districts during periods of transition. His appointment marks a key step in the district’s broader strategy to strengthen internal capacity, ensure continuity, and align leadership with the values and priorities of the Diamond R-IV community.

“The Board has been united in its commitment to choosing a leadership path that reflects the values and vision of the Diamond community,” said Tracy Danner, President of the Diamond R-IV Board of Education. “We believe Dr. Redinger brings the right combination of experience, stability, and strategic focus to help our district move forward with confidence and purpose.”

Over the past several months, the Board has worked collaboratively to explore leadership options, engage stakeholders, and develop a plan that reflects the district’s current needs and future direction. This process included extensive consultation with MSBA and a careful review of feedback provided by faculty, staff, and community members. The Board’s unified focus on doing what is best for students, supporting staff, and sustaining district excellence has guided every step of this process.

“We heard our stakeholders clearly,” Danner added. “This is not just about filling a role—it’s about taking intentional steps to secure the future of Diamond schools.”

Dr. Redinger brings nearly 30 years of experience in Missouri public education, including service as a superintendent, assistant superintendent, human resources leader, principal, and classroom teacher. Most recently, he served as Chief Human Resource Officer for Springfield Public Schools and held prior leadership roles in the Park Hill and Lone Jack school districts. He is widely recognized for his contributions to school leadership and personnel development statewide.

“I’m honored to join the Diamond R-IV School District and contribute to a school community that values its students, families, and educators,” said Dr. Bill Redinger. “This opportunity represents a return to my roots in rural education, and I understand the level of trust and expectation that Diamond families place in their schools. From my first conversations with the Board, it was clear that they have high standards for the district—and I look forward to working alongside the administrative team, faculty, and staff to support student success, strengthen district operations, and build on the momentum already in place.”

In addition to Dr. Redinger’s leadership, the district will benefit from a team of MSBA support professionals, including Richard Asbill (MSBA Superintendent Liaison), Linda Quinley and Pam Fraizer (MSBA School Finance), and Katherine Whitaker (MSBA Leadership Development). This team will provide guidance in financial planning, board governance, administrative coaching, and operational support throughout the year.
