The accident occurred when a Black Chevrolet Silverado driven by Charles Clark, 39, Carterville, ran off the left side of the road and crashed with Clark being ejected.
James Harrison from the Jasper County Coroner's office pronounced Clark dead at the scene at 7:24 a.m.
The fatality was the 80th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
