Lobbyist: Tenure reform needed because KC schools are packed with lousy teachers

In this Kansas City NBC Action News report, lobbyist Woody Cozad says the Kansas City Public School District is a prime example of why tenure needs to be eliminated (or under the revised SB 806 increased from five to 10 years). Cozad claims the KC School District is full of bad teachers, who only have jobs because they have tenure.

What the report does not mention is that describing Cozad as an "education lobbyist" is a bit misleading. Cozad is a lobbyist for Pelopidas, an organization fronted by Rex Sinquefield lobbyist Travis Brown and also lobbies for CNS Corporation. The CNS stands for Charles Norval Sharpe, a long time opponent of public education.
