National Rifle Association endorses Emerson

(From Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson)

Jo Ann Emerson has been endorsed once again by the National Rifle Association for her strong defense of Second Amendment rights in the U.S. House of Representatives.  Emerson attended the NRA convention in St. Louis, Missouri, where the organization recognized her as an outstanding advocate for American gun owners.
"I'm tremendously proud to have the endorsement of the NRA for the primary and general elections.  Our Second Amendment rights are a vital part of our constitutional protections, and the NRA is the national leader in advocacy for law-abiding Americans who own firearms," Emerson said.  "I take my obligations to protect the Second Amendment very seriously in Congress, and I know that sportsmen and citizens in Southern Missouri rely on sound policy; they look to Congress for leadership on the issue."
In the 112th Congress, Emerson has co-sponsored and voted for pro-gun rights bills, including the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act (HR 822), and she is a co-sponsor of the Veterans' Heritage Firearms Act (HR 420).
