WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * SHORT TERM TRENDS...SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE AREA HAVE TEMPORARILY RESULTED IN WINDS BECOMING LIGHTER. HOWEVER...WINDS WILL INCREASE OUT OF THE SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST STARTING AROUND MID AFTERNOON AS A FRONTAL BOUNDARY MOVES IN FROM THE WEST. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL OCCUR FROM LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO EARLY THIS EVENING. * TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...THIS AFTERNOON INTO EARLY THIS EVENING ACROSS LOCATIONS NORTH OF THE INTERSTATE 44 CORRIDOR. * WINDS...SUSTAINED WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH ARE EXPECTED. * IMPACTS...THE STRONG AND GUSTY SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY ON WEST TO EAST ORIENTED ROADS... INCLUDING STRETCHES OF INTERSTATE 44. BOATING ON AREA LAKES WILL ALSO BE HAZARDOUS...ESPECIALLY ON LAKES SUCH AS STOCKTON WHICH HAVE LONG STRETCHES OF WATER WHICH ARE ORIENTATED FROM NORTH TO SOUTH. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WINDS OF 30 MPH OR GUSTS TO 45 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
