Besendorfer files for divorce

Joplin R-8 Assistant Superintendent Angie Besendorfer, 46, filed for a dissolution of marriage today in Newton County Circuit Court, according to online court records.

Her husband, Ron Besendorfer, 46, waived service and made an entry of appearance.

Angie Besendorfer, who first signed on with the Joplin R-8 School District in 2007, is in her last month at the school. It was announced in November that she will leave the school district to become the chancellor at Western Governors University, an online college.

In an article published Dec. 22 in the Joplin Regional Business Journal, Ms. Besendorfer explained why she was taking the job:

"(Joplin Superintendent) C. J. Huff is on the board of advisors for WGU-MO and actually is the one who told me about the position. He encouraged me to consider it. He is a great boss and great bosses look out for their staff. He saw this as a good opportunity for my career path and he was right."

This doesn't seem like news to me, either. Her marriage is breaking up: why is that information being reported as if it is relevant to anyone else but to her and to her family?

This is not news. Losing points with me. :-(

I realize that it might be public record, but all people deserve some privacy in dealing with family issues.

A new low for randy turner. I read because I find parts of this blog to be interesting and I appreciate finding somewhere to get news that isn't reported widely by other sources. But when it comes to anything Huff/Besendorfer related I don't trust you at all. This story confirms my original gut feeling that you can't be objective.

Turner, objective, unbiased, factual? Never. His agenda is so obvious that if you can't see it, than you possess similar vision, very narrow.

Mr. Turner's explanation of why he posted the story about the divorce, whether you agree with it or not, was reasonable. While I am sure there are many people who are uncomfortable with this kind of story, the way some of these comments are phrased makes it appear that supporters of CJ Huff and Angie Besendorfer and the current school board are trying to cause people to doubt Mr. Turner's writing. I love the last one. Think of what you wrote. When it comes to anything about Huff and Besendorfer you don't trust Mr. Turner because he printed a completely accurate story about a divorce. I might add that his other stories about the school have been accurate as well. No offense to those leaving comments but misusing taxpayers money and ruining hundreds of lives seems a much wore offense than writing about a divorce. Get real!

Stop bashing Besendrofer and Huff. Enough is enough. If you aren't fans of them, turn your head but posting something so private is quite frankly none of your business.

Besendorfer's divorce filing.

This. Is. News.

Not a report of a rumor; but a report of a public record legal filing.

Bad news, good news, another brick in the wall.

History decides, maybe it won't be news looking back after a few years. Those that decide to hide the facts take sides against the public interest.

There was a reason the founding fathers intended these court filings to be publicly accessible instead of having secret court proceedings.

The Turner Report is criticized for reporting what the founding fathers intended to be public knowledge. These critics would have the censors decide which facts are for the public and which are those to be hid. Alternately, they are Turner critics and will criticize whatever he does. Certainly, none of these critics ever share amongst themselves facts about their fellow citizens.
