A 33-year-old Monett man, Alan Michael Mellow, has been charged with first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and one count of first-degree child endangerment following the shooting death of 30-year-old Hannah Lee Blizzard, also of Monett.
Mellow and Blizzard, who share a 3-month-old child, had a domestic dispute in a vehicle parked in front of the apartment complex located in the 300 block of Fairway Avenue while the child was inside the vehicle.
Mellow fired multiple shots at Blizzard then returned to his apartment with the child.
Mellow later surrendered himself and the child to police without incident.
Blizzard was pronounced dead at the scene by Barry County Coroner Gary Swearengen. The child was transported by ambulance for medical evaluation.
Mellow is being held in the Barry County Jail without bond.
