Tea Party spirit lives on at KZRG

NewsTalk KZRG is back in the Tea Party game, scheduling a rally 12 noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 15 at the Donald E. Clark Justice Center.

According to the station's e-mail newsletter:

"Bring your flags and signs to hear from great speakers like John Putnam and Carl Bearden! We'll air our grievances and march to the Main Post Office!

This year's event focuses on tax reform as our leaders continue to force new taxes on the backs of working people like us! Let's tell our elected leaders how we feel about their continued efforts to bankrupt this great nation!"

Now let me see if I understand this- One of the "great speakers" at this event in former Rep. Carl Bearden, a lobbyist, who wants to spend our public tax dollars on private schools. If that is what is considered a "great speaker," I cringe to think what would be considered a mediocre one.

Randy, could I go into your classroom and tell you what or how to teach? No? Then you must teach in a "private" school. How dare you take my tax money!

I am still trying to understand where they say our taxes are going up as they have gone down for the middle class. I don't think they really know what they are arguing for.
