Joe the Plumber: I'm for Icet

Tea party favorite Joe the Plumber thinks Missouri Republicans should vote for Rep. Allen Icet for state auditor. Why anyone should care is a matter of conjecture, but here is the news release:

Nationally known conservative and tea party rally speaker Joe the Plumber endorses Allen Icet in the Auditor Race and will be attending an upcoming event to support Icet.

Joe the Plumber announces today that he will be supporting Allen Icet in the State Auditor's race with a rally to be held in Queeny Park at 550 Weidman Road in Ballwin on May 22, 2010. Joe the Plumber, best known for questioning then-presidential candidate Barack Obama about his tax plan has since been a figure well known among conservative circles. Since that incident in 2008, Joe has been involved in events such as CPAC, the Washington, D.C. Tea Party, the “Defending the American Dream Summit,” and many other conservative and tea party events and rallies.

“The Auditor’s office is the last line of defense when it comes to the fight against government waste and fraud, and it takes someone with experience handling a budget like Allen to watch out for the taxpayers,” comments Joe on the election for Auditor. He continues, “And no matter what office it is, I’m sure the people of Missouri want their watchdog to be principled, and to share the same values they do. That is why Allen Icet is the man for the job and why I’m proud to support him in his campaign.”

“It would make sense that Joe the Plumber would support Allen Icet. Here we have a man that has been the watchdog of the average ‘joe’ for five years now as the Budget Chairman in the Missouri House. We need someone in the Auditor’s office with the necessary Missouri budget experience, and that man is Allen Icet,” remarks Senator Jim Lembke about the endorsement.

The rally will take place at 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Queeny Park in Saint Louis County. Tickets for the event will be $21.00 and interested persons may contact Ross Branson with the Icet for Auditor campaign at (573) 645-0553 or by visiting http://www.facebook.com/l/0c0f9;www.icetforauditor.com/joetheplumber/
