The latest National Weather Service update indicates snow will be ending soon, but conditions will remain dangerous:
A BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST WEDNESDAY.
* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...SNOW WILL END FROM SOUTHWEST TO
NORTHEAST THIS EVENING.
* SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...MOST LOCATIONS WILL NOT RECEIVE
ANY ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS. HOWEVER...AREAS OF CENTRAL
MISSOURI COULD RECEIVE ANOTHER INCH OF SNOW.
* WINDS AND VISIBILITY...NORTH WINDS WILL BE SUSTAINED BETWEEN 20
AND 30 MPH...WITH GUSTS 30 TO 40 MPH AT TIMES. WHEN COMBINED
WITH HEAVY SNOW TODAY...VISIBILITIES WILL LIKELY DROP TO BELOW
ONE QUARTER OF A MILE AT TIMES.
* IMPACTS...ROAD CONDITIONS HAVE DETERIORATED ACROSS THE REGION.
THE MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REPORTS THAT ROADS ARE
SNOW AND ICE COVERED AND TRAVEL IS VERY POOR AND DANGEROUS.
INTERSTATE 44 HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO MOTORISTS FROM WESTERN
GREENE COUNTY TO THE OKLAHOMA STATE LINE.
