Blunt: We need to deal with Social Security now

One of the most cynical ploys being used these days by those who say Social Security and Medicare need to be cut is to ensure that it will not affect those 55 and over. The idea is the older age group will be so grateful they are being spared the ax they will go right along with anything.

Those younger than 55 are far enough from retirement they aren't thinking about it yet, so go ahead and take away their benefits.

That same cynical approach is used multiple times by Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo in this speech on the Senate floor.

Way back in the days of St. Reagan the conservatives one passion in life was to privatize social security-they now smell blood in the water don't screw the older generation they vote. Roy Blunt who has the morals of a alley cat,who has made enough money through political graft to buy a private island in the pacific lecturing the American people of why they must expect the resurection of the poor farms..Beam me up Scotty America is not the country our forefathers talked about.

The first entitlements to eliminate are congressional pensions. If you don't get rid of those first don't touch anything else.
