Peggy Newton ordered to report to prison Sept. 6

Joplin businesswoman Peggy Newton, sentenced to two years Thursday for fraud, has just 34 days of freedom left before she reports to prison, according to documents filed today in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.

After her two year sentence is completed, she will have to repay her former business partner at Evergreen and Amber, Diane Pine, $150,000 within 30 months. Mrs. Newton will be on probation for three years after her release.

During that time, the documents indicate, she will have to provide the government with whatever financial information it needs, "not incur new credit charges or open additional lines of credit." She will also be required to "successfully participate in (a) mental health counseling program." She will be subject to search and will have to earn her GED.

** Since 1914 - Newtons.

Do I understand this correctly that Peggy does not even have a High School Degree or GED?

The Turner Report beats the Joplin Globe "hands down", for reporting the facts and giving a picture of what is really happening locally.

Kudos...............

Hopefully Peggy can repair her life with Gods guidance. May her family find the peace they need to start a new path.
