Sen. Ron Richard received $44,150 in contributions during the past three months, according to his quarterly disclosure report filed Tuesday with the Missouri Ethics Commission.
One of the biggest contributions, $5,000, came from Michelle Rhee's controversial and inaccurately named StudentsFirst organization, which favors educational vouchers, elimination of teacher tenure, and evaluating and paying teachers based on student scores on standardized tests.
Richard spent $70.040 during the quarter, leaving him with $402,808.39.

Richard's contributions included $500 to the Joplin Progress Committee, $250 to Charlotte Pickering's Jasper County recorder campaign, $100 to Miranda Lewis for Joplin City Council, $300 to Mike Seibert for Joplin City Council, $5,000 to the Seventh District Congressional Republican Committee.
As noted in an earlier Turner Report post, Richard came down on the side of former Speaker of the House Catherine Hanaway for governor, contributing $10,000 to her campaign.
