The preliminary agenda for Monday's 6 p.m. Joplin City Council meeting shows eight people have already signed up to address the council about the city's mask ordinance and a ninth person plans to speak on "what it means to be an American (which would indicate he might also have the mask ordinance in mind).
The final item on the agenda is a discussion on the COVID-19 response, including an update from the Joplin Health Department.
The meeting will also include a hearing on the proposed budget.
A closed session will be held to discuss personnel matters.
