In a news release issued Monday, the department provided no information about the ages of the two, only saying that both had been hospitalized. Newton County has recorded 12 deaths.
The county had six new coronavirus cases bringing the total to 926, according to statistics posted Monday night on the health department's Facebook page. One hundred forty-eight people are under isolation.
