Former Golden City High School teacher pleads not guilty to having sex with student

A former Golden City High School teacher pleaded not guilty December 29 in Jasper County Circuit Court to a felony charge of sexual contact with a student.

Jacey Stahl, 22, who was a full-time substitute teacher for the R-3 School District, is free after posting $1,000 bond. Her next hearing is scheduled for 9:05 a.m. February 9 before Judge Joseph Hensley.

Stahl was charged following a joint investigation by the Jasper County and Barton County sheriff's offices. Though the Golden City School is in Barton County, Stahl had allegedly had sex with the boy at his home, which is located in Jasper County, in February, according to the probable cause statement.

Stahl resigned from her position in April, according to the Greenfield Vedette.
