Greenfield teacher to board: Firing of Kim Morrison was unethical

 

The Greenfield Vedette reports that high school English teacher Matt Teel told the R-4 Board of Education April 13 that its decision to fire English teacher Kim Morrison for allegedly teaching Critical Race Theory was "unethical."

According to the Vedette, Teel who addresses ethics in his class, said Morrison's dismissal was unethical because proper procedure was not followed. He praised Morrison's dedication and her qualifications.

"We didn't even give her the same consideration that we gave some unqualified people earlier in the year."

Teel, who has been with the district for nine years, said many teachers are already leaving the district and what happened to Morrison has others considering taking that step.

Morrison taught English at Jasper High School in the early '90s.
