Government wants Oronogo man held without bond on fentanyl trafficking charge

Admissions an Oronogo man made during his interrogation by law enforcement were cited in a detention motion filed today in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.

Cody Romines, 30, was arrested following a chase on I-44 Tuesday, with fentanyl trafficking charges filed Thursday.

ROMINES was arrested and advised of his Miranda warning and agreed to speak with law enforcement. 

During his interview, ROMINES admitted to throwing the bag out of the vehicle window and identified the substance in the bag as fentanyl. 








ROMINES further admitted to distributing fentanyl in the Joplin, Missouri, area for the last several years and indicated that the fentanyl he threw out the window on Interstate 44 was being transported to the Joplin, Missouri, area for distribution.

Romines' detention hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday in Springfield.
