Josh Hawley: Supreme Court decision overruling Roe v Wade is "heck of an opinion"

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-MO was none too pleased that a U. S. Supreme Court draft decision overturning Roe v. Wade was leaked, but he is pleased with the reported decision.

Hawley tweeted less than a half hour ago, following the Politico bombshell that a draft opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito, with at least four other justices backing him, completely tosses out the 1973 decision that legalized abortion in the United States.

I will say, if this is the Court’s opinion, it’s a heck of an opinion. Voluminously researched, tightly argued, and morally powerful.

Hawley decried the leak of a draft in a tweet a few moments earlier:

The left continues its assault on the Supreme Court with an unprecedented breach of confidentiality, clearly meant to intimidate. The Justices mustn’t give in to this attempt to corrupt the process. Stay strong.

In the draft opinion, Alito wrote the following, according to the Politico story:

“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” he writes in the document, labeled as the “Opinion of the Court.” “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
