National Rural Health Association names Cox Barton County a top 20 critical access hospital

(From Cox Health)

The National Rural Health Association has named Cox Barton County Hospital to their Top 20 list of “Best Practice” recipients in the Quality category for critical access hospitals (CAHs).

The best practice designation, determined by Chartis Center for Rural Health, was given to CAHs that achieved success in quality measures or a rating of hospital performance based on the percentile rank across the rural-relevant process of care measures.

“The last two years have been some of the most trying times in health care,” says Chris Wyatt, president of Cox Barton County Hospital. “Our team never wavered in doing what was right for our patients, they remained focused and committed to high-quality care.”

The “Best Practice” award means that Cox Barton is ranked in the Top 20 hospitals in quality across the United States and is the only CAH in Missouri to be named to the list.

“I am so proud of the compassionate, quality care our team members, physicians, and providers deliver to our patients,” says Wyatt. “We set a goal to become one of the best rural hospitals in the nation, and this award validates we are one step closer.”

An awards ceremony will be held during NRHA's Critical Access Hospital Conference in September in Kansas City, MO.
