Jill Carter wins in a landslide

 


32nd District voters returned Jill Carter to the State Senate in resounding fashion today, as she barely missed receiving 70 percent of the vote.

According to final unofficial statistics, Carter more than doubled challenger Ellen Nichols receiving 18,289 votes or 69.7 percent to 7,940 votes for 30.3 percent for Nichols.

If the Nichols campaign spent $500k to garner 7,940 votes, that works out to around $63/vote. Even adjusted for inflation, that has to be the most expensive, losing campaign in MO senate history?. Maybe in all of MO political history? Biggest winners in this? Us, the citizens, when we don’t have to sort the daily mail while standing over the trashcan, throwing away postcards.
