Hartzler: We remember those who lost their lives on 9-11

(From Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler)

“It is hard to believe it was ten years ago that Americans watched in horror as two jetliners hit the World Trade Center, a third struck the Pentagon, and a fourth was brought down in a field in Pennsylvania. On Patriot Day, we remember the 3,000 people who lost their lives that day and the families of those victims. And we pledge ourselves anew to do everything we can to ensure no such tragedy ever happens again. We honor the brave firefighters, police officers, emergency medical technicians, and others who put their own safety at risk as they rushed into burning buildings to rescue their fellow Americans. Many of those brave public servants gave their all that day. Their selfless actions must never be forgotten. As we remember the heroes of 9/11 and honor their sacrifices we thank the men and women of our military, law enforcement, and national security who are protecting us today against further acts of terrorism. It is their determination and expert preparedness, aided by God’s grace and guiding hand, that have prevented another attack against our homeland. As Americans, we ask God to bless the families of the 9/11 tragedy and to watch over us as we remain ever-vigilant in our effort to prevent a future attack against the country we all love.”

All she says is true. Let us also not forget how the neo-cons used 9/11 to start a needless war in Iraq that took over 4,000 more American lives and helped drive the thriving economy into the dirt. Our debt now is being used as a pretext to destroy Social Security and Medicare. These things ARE interrelated. Let's pray we can see the truth as we mourn.
