July trial date set for former Sarcoxie School Board member on child porn charges

The trial of former Sarcoxie Board of Education member John Lewis on child pornography charges may take place as soon as July, according to documents filed Wednesday in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.

Lewis, who received absolutely no votes in his bid for re-election Tuesday, waived his right to a speedy trial or the trial might have started on April 22.

The case has been placed on the July 8 trial docket. The trial will be held in Springfield.
