Joplin Globe columnist: Debbie Fort is doomed to fail

As you might expect, noted Joplin Globe guest columnist Anson Burlingame, in his blog, is crowing about the results of yesterday's election. The city races turned out exactly as he wanted, but that darned Debbie Fort, who had the nerve to be the top vote-getter in the Joplin R-8 Board of Education race, kept Anson from getting a clean sweep.

As you may remember, I have noted that Anson receives updates and often talking points from Superintendent C. J. Huff. Huff needs to tell Anson there are only seven members on the board. I wonder who Huff thinks is the other person besides Debbie Fort that he does not have in his pocket. Anson wrote the following today in the comment section of one of his own posts:

The council election turned out exactly as I hoped it would. The BOE results essentially balanced out two extremes (not radical extremes, but decidedly two different people) with both Banwart and Fort winning decidedly.
End of the day, the Bloc of Five is now a “snarling minority of three” and had those three been up for re-election they would have been history as well. On the BOE, if they really square off, one side supporting efforts by R-8 (and Huff) to make needed changes and the other sounding like the Turner crowd, well it will be a 7-2 majority supporting R-8. We’ll see how Fort deals with that political situation now won’t we.

Well now Flowers is without Powers
That isn't good for Huff
And Mike Pence is without Flowers
which I'm sure it makes Pence gruff
I'm glad for Debbie Fort
As well as Lynda Banwart
Too bad Woolston survived without his buddy Rohr
But maybe next election the citizens will show Woolston the door
Debbie Fort we are behind you
You will stand up to Huff well
Please get him to cut expenses
and his spending habits please tell

7:07 is quite the poet,
Does he/she know it?

One name that keeps popping up in comments is Mike Pence. Who is he? Is he a behind the scenes person?

yes. Pence passed out flyers at the Y and bragged about his money contributions periodically. he also brags about women and it gets gross how he flirts with women although it is harmless.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Joplin Schools is run by the mafia or another outstanding group called the Gaestapo? My goodness. I hope Debbie Fort gives those who are treading the line on voting against Huff to now vote against him and get him, Doshier, Stevens, Cravens, and Smith out. They need a full house cleaning at the Big House.
Go Debbie Fort, you teach old man fatty bully Huff a lesson.

Watch the BOE voting closely in the next few months. Not going out on a limb here, the days of the 7-0 voting are gone. There will be many 4-3 votes with CJ and his ilk still getting the 4 votes, but there also will be some instances where the voting is 4-3 against Dr. Huff. I would break it down like this - Dr. Fort, Mr. Kimbrough, and Ms. Sharpe as the 3 votes, with Mrs. Banwart and Mr. Steele sometimes voting with Fort, Kimbrough and Sharpe. Landis and the lady who appears to be invisible will always vote with CJ Huff. For those who don't thing the winds of change are beginning to blow - those folks are in for some surprises.
