Billy Long campaign spends nearly $100,000 for meals

Federal Election Commission (FEC) documents indicate the Billy Long For Congress campaign committee has spent nearly $100,000 for meals since the beginning of 2013, including more than $20,000 in the last three months.

While some of the money during the past three months has been for catering at what are labeled as campaign events, including $5,573.50 at the Highland Springs Country Club in Springfield August 13 and $1,597.75 to Simplicity Catering in Falls Church, Virginia on July 21, most of it appears to be for regular meals, including several occasions where the campaign was billed for multiple meals on the same day.

On July 18, the Long campaign recorded two meals at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, D. C., the first for $438.52 and the second for $559.72, for a total of $998.24.

On August 4, Long had a meal at the Prime Rib in Washington for $260.50 and another in Farmington, Pennsylvania, for $201.88.

On August 27, the Long campaign reported two meals at the Capitol Hill Club, one for $116.12 and the other for $215.10, and a third meal at Nicolas Ristarante in Springfield for $1,062.41, for a total of $1,393.63.

Long's total amount for the past three months, according to his disclosure report filed Wednesday, was $20,794.04.

I saw this man on the roadside several years ago. His tattered cardboard sign read:

'"Will vote for food!"

You had your chance Dems. Stop picking substance over form.

Oh come on. A steak is only sixty dollars of those bills. The rest is the booze that he puts down quite handily.

If he keeps this up, he may not survive long enough to run for public office. Methinks the man looks to be in poor health as it is. High blood pressure, sleep apnea, diabetes, high cholesterol...all could cause big problems for anyone, even Billy.
