State Board may choose commissioner today; president visited C. J. Huff Friday

Members of the State Board of Education are meeting in closed session this morning to discuss a replacement for Commissioner of Education Chris Nicastro, who is retiring at the end of the year...three days after Board President Peter Herschend reportedly visited Joplin for a meeting with R-8 Superintendent C. J. Huff.

No one is talking about whether the meeting had anything to do with the search for Nicastro's replacement, but articles in the Kansas City Star and St. Louis Post-Dispatch have taken the board to task for not conducting a nationwide search for the position and for its rush to have someone in place.

Those reports indicated the selection could be made as early as today.

Huff has insisted to the Board of Education that he has not been looking for another position, but the Turner Report confirmed that Huff was considered for the Springfield superintendent position that eventually went to Lamar native and former Monett Superintendent John Jungmann.

Hopefully he can go straight from that job across town to the state prison.

That is not a very nice thing to say. Hell doesn't deserve someone that bad.

Want him gone but where he can make a mess of the entire state? Can't imagine they choose Huff over someone respectable. Do us all a favor and leave this state

Huff take Tina Smith, Jason Cravens , Jennifer Dozier, Lusa Oren , Paul Barr and all those weak principals you hired with you. They can continue to suck face away from here!

My Dearest CJ:

I realize that surrounding yourself with anyone possessing even a modicum of intelligence runs contrary to your well established leadership methodology, However, I implore you to find someone with some semblance of rhetorical skill to man the Turner Response Desk (TRD). The level of banter is becoming more and more boring, There is no sport in engaging your surrogates in a battle of wit when they come unarmed.

Sincerely,
Dr. Bottomfeeder Turnertard

Huff:

Do you remember when you had the support of this community and the respect of the teaching profession?

Neither do we.

Oh Huffypoo, one day you will have left us. All we will have is the bitter-bitter memories of what you did to us. Fear not my diminutive dimwitted dullard. There are those who will have a twisted nostalgic fondness for the little slice of hell you created out of our fine city. Just as there are memorials to bygone dictators in the former USSR and children who dress up as Satan, some wll pay mocking homage to the image you so clumsily attempted to portray. Where you saw an innovative leader forging a bright shining path for the world of education to admire and emulate, that same world saw only a pathetic little man who confused being a visionary genius with being a self deluding despot. Surrounding yourself with the polar opposite of the best and the brightest, you created an echo chamber wherein every idiotic might as well risk that popped into that big empty space above your shoulders resonated and gained faux legitimacy via a bought and paid for media machine. Unfortunately, and often tragically, the dissonance between your message and reality became increasingly obvious; even to the children you tried so desperately to fashion into your cult. It is almost sad to think that one who chose such a noble profession would be remembered as the epitome of epic failure. So, while your reign of terror heeds the bell which tolls for thee, snuggle back into your fantasy of greatness, and indulge your ego with this simple truth... rarely has one man delivered so much joy to so many with one tiny little act...his departure....adieu my friend adieu.
