A Webb City man with three previous driving while intoxicated convictions was charged with DWI and aggravated fleeing after allegedly attempting to elude Webb City Police by driving at speeds of up to 113 miles per hour in a work zone November 1.
An arrest warrant was issued today for William Vincent Romero, Jr. (DOB 1982). The allegations against Romero were spelled out in the probable cause statement.
Mr Romero continued on at speeds reaching 113 mph to include going through a work zone at those speeds. Mr Romero took complete disregard for 15 civilian vehicles to include almost running one off the roadway. He failed to stop at 3 different stop signs and 1 yield sign.
Mr Romero also attempted to get onto 144 in the wrong direction of travel. Mr Romero smelled of intoxicants and showed signs of impairment. He refused sobriety tests halfway through them and refused a breath test.
Mr Romero has 3 prior DWI convictions Pleasant Hill CA 08/28/02, Jasper County 09/04/13, and Jasper County 12/14/20.
