THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS EXTENDED THE
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
BARRY COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
CHEROKEE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS...
JASPER COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
MCDONALD COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
NEWTON COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
* UNTIL 1000 AM CDT TUESDAY.
* AT 1126 PM CDT...THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND LAW
ENFORCEMENT CONTINUED TO INDICATE THAT RUNOFF FROM PREVIOUS
RAINFALL WAS SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACTING THE AREA. FLASH FLOODING IS
EXPECTED TO CONTINUE ACROSS THE WARNED AREA.
* RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL IS CAUSING FLASH FLOODING.
CREEKS...STREAMS AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS WILL BE ESPECIALLY
SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODING.
THIS WARNING INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING LOW WATER
CROSSINGS...
HIGHWAY 43 AT BUFFALO CREEK WEST OF ANDERSON...
NORTH MAIN AND MURPHY BOULEVARD IN JOPLIN...
BUSINESS HIGHWAY 60 JUST NORTH OF NEOSHO...
HIGHWAY 37 AT THE SPRING RIVER SOUTHWEST OF AVILLA...
ROUTE Y AT FLAT CREEK JUST NORTHEAST OF CASSVILLE.
NUMEROUS REPORTS OF FLOODED ROADS...STREETS AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS
HAVE BEEN RECEIVED ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. EVACUATIONS HAVE ALREADY
OCCURRED AT ROARING RIVER STATE PARK AND IN THE CITY OF SENECA.
IN ADDITION...AREA STREAMS AND RIVERS CONTINUE TO RISE RAPIDLY FROM
RUNOFF DESPITE THE RAIN HAVING ENDED INCLUDING
INDIAN...BUFFALO...SHOAL AND BIG SUGAR CREEKS. SEVERAL STREAMS AND
CREEKS ARE EXPECTED TO RISE TO NEAR MAJOR FLOOD STAGE.
