Joplin Police Department would like to remind all citizens, workers, media personnel, and visitors that the security of the disaster areas remains top priority. Now that the permitting process has been cancelled, they ask that all people would be patient if stopped and asked for identification and/or purpose for being in those areas most affected. All law enforcement is maintaining a high level of their presence in these areas.
Also, as a reminder, the 9 p.m. curfew will be in effect again this evening through tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. Everyone is asked to stay off of the streets within the disaster areas between these times.
