Coca-Cola to present $25,000 check for Cunningham Park during Friday press conference

Gov. Jay Nixon, Joplin Mayor Mike Woolston, Rep. Charlie Davis, R-Joplin, and other city officials will be on hand Friday when Coca-Cola presents the city of Joplin with a $25,000 check to use for Cunningham Park.

The presentation was made possible by Joplin residents and people across the United States who voted enough for the city to enable it to receive third place in Coke's "America is Your Park" campaign.

The money will help the city deal with damage done to Cunningham Park during the May 22 tornado.

The presentation ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, and will last approximately a half hour.
