Hartzler votes to freeze her own pay
(From Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler)
Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-4), a supporter of reining in runaway spending, has demonstrated her commitment to financial responsibility by voting to freeze her own congressional pay. She was joined by a large bipartisan majority in the House in voting for H.R. 3835, legislation to extend the current pay freeze for Members of Congress and federal employees for an additional year to December 31, 2013.
“The American people are having a tough time making ends meet,” said Hartzler. “It is important for the people’s representatives to understand the difficult challenges being faced and to demonstrate responsible behavior.”
“Freezing federal salaries is the right thing to do and brings accountability to Congress,” added Hartzler. “At a time when the people of the Fourth District and others across the country are forced to make tough choices with their money, Washington needs to do so, as well.”

If she votes to do away with their perks then I will take her seriously. Until then she is just pandering to the voters.
