Hearing set for Senate educational voucher resolution
The Senate General Laws Committee will hold a hearing today for a resolution sponsored by Sen. Scott Rupp, R-St. Charles County, which would allow public money to go to parochial schools.
Rupp is taking the approach that not allowing public money to go to church schools is an unconstitutional violation of the First Amendment separation of church and state.
His explanation of the resolution was printed in the Jan. 22 Turner Report.
