One of my favorite former students, Joplin High School junior Elaina Warren, won't have the opportunity to attend the new high school, but she maintains an interest in it.
In a story aired Thursday night on KODE on the public meeting introducing the design for the new high school, Elaina explained why she attended:
"I'm not going to get to go to the new high school, but it's still important to me because it's Joplin High School."
In the clip, Assistant Superintendent Angie Besendorfer explains what will set the proposed Joplin High School building apart, including its emphasis on career paths with the possibility of students leaving JHS with both a diploma and an associate's degree, saving families a considerable amount of money.
