Of course, the legislature applied a "fix" to the law which removed the prohibition against teachers and students communicating through Facebook and other social networking sites, in favor of having each school district set its own policy for teacher/student communication.
The lawsuit, which was brought by the Missouri State Teachers Association, has not been dismissed. MSTA has three days to respond to a motion by the defendants' (Gov. Jay Nixon and Attorney General Chris Koster) to dismiss the case.
The American Civil Liberties Union indicated earlier that it would not bring any action until it had seen what kinds of policies school districts put into place.
