.A STRONG WINTER STORM WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS THE MISSOURI
OZARKS AND SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS TODAY. MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW HAS
SPREAD ACROSS THE AREA THIS MORNING AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE
REMAINDER OF THE MORNING INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON. LIGHT TO
MODERATE SNOW WILL THEN PERSIST THROUGH MUCH OF THIS
AFTERNOON...ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN MISSOURI
OZARKS. GUSTY NORTH WINDS WILL PRODUCE SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND
DRIFTING OF SNOW.
THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL OCCUR ALONG AND EAST OF THE U.S.
65 CORRIDOR AND NORTH OF U.S. 60. 7 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW WITH
LOCALIZED AMOUNTS UP TO 11 INCHES ARE EXPECTED EAST OF HIGHWAY 65
AND NORTH OF HIGHWAY 60. A SWATH OF 4 TO 7 INCHES IS EXPECTED
ALONG THE HIGHWAY 65 CORRIDOR AND SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 60 IN SOUTH
CENTRAL MISSOURI. AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE
REMAINDER OF WESTERN MISSOURI AND EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS.
SNOW WILL FINALLY BEGIN TO END FROM WEST TO EAST FROM EARLY THIS
AFTERNOON INTO EARLY THIS EVENING.
MEANWHILE...STRONG NORTH WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY THIS STORM SYSTEM
RESULTING IN NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AT TIMES ACROSS THE CENTRAL
AND EASTERN MISSOURI OZARKS. VISIBILITIES DOWN TO AROUND A
QUARTER MILE OR LESS ALONG WITH BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW CAN BE
EXPECTED. WIND CHILL VALUES WILL ALSO FALL BELOW ZERO THROUGHOUT
THE DAY TODAY.
DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS ARE THEN EXPECTED TONIGHT AS

THROUGH EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. A BAND OF VERY HEAVY SNOW WILL
IMPACT MUCH OF THE HIGHWAY 65 CORRIDOR THROUGH 11 AM...WITH THIS
BAND SHIFTING INTO THE EASTERN OZARKS THROUGH EARLY THIS
AFTERNOON. SNOWFALL RATES WITH THIS BAND WILL RANGE FROM 1 TO 2
INCHES PER HOUR WITH NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS EXPECTED DUE TO
HEAVY SNOWFALL RATES AS WELL AS STRONG AND GUSTY NORTH WINDS.
* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...THE WINTER STORM WARNING IS IN
EFFECT FOR AREAS ALONG AND EAST OF THE HIGHWAY 65 CORRIDOR

MONDAY MORNING.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...TOTAL STORM ACCUMULATIONS OF 7 TO 10 INCHES
WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS UP TO 11 INCHES ARE EXPECTED EAST OF
THE HIGHWAY 65 CORRIDOR AND NORTH OF HIGHWAY 60. AMOUNTS OF 4 TO
7 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ALONG THE HIGHWAY 65 CORRIDOR AND SOUTH OF
HIGHWAY 60 IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI.
* WINDS AND VISIBILITY...SUSTAINED NORTH WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH
WITH GUSTS OVER 30 MPH ARE EXPECTED TODAY. THIS WILL CREATE NEAR
BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AT TIMES. VISIBILITIES WILL OFTEN BE REDUCED

SNOW...AND BITTERLY COLD WIND CHILLS WILL RESULT IN DANGEROUS
TRAVEL CONDITIONS ACROSS THE REGION TODAY. THIS INCLUDES STATE
HIGHWAYS 54...60...63...AND 13... ALONG WITH INTERSTATE 44.
DANGEROUSLY COLD CONDITIONS WILL THEN PERSIST THROUGH EARLY NEXT
WEEK.

ALONG WITH YOU. THIS KIT SHOULD INCLUDE SUCH ITEMS AS TIRE

A WIND CHILL WARNING MEANS THE COMBINATION OF VERY COLD AIR AND
STRONG WINDS WILL CREATE DANGEROUSLY LOW WIND CHILL VALUES. THIS
WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA OR DEATH IF
PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.
PETS ARE ALSO SUSPECT TO THE EXTREME COLD. KEEP PETS INDOORS AS
