Macy's store at Joplin's Northpark Mall not on closure list

Macy's is closing 28 stores across the United States, but the anchor store at Joplin's Northpark Mall will not be one of them.

Though the company has not issued an official list, a list compiled from media reports indicates none of Missouri's Macy's will be affected.

Competition from online businesses in recent years have caused a steady decline among retail businesses, including another Northpark Mall anchor store, Sears, which is currently having a going-out-of-business sale.
