Missouri breaks one-day COVID-19 record for third straight day, 20 deaths reported

COVID-19 continues to spread throughout Missouri as the state recorded its highest one-day total for the third straight day and for the fourth time in the last six days.

Statistics released this afternoon by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services show 1,637 cases were added today, bringing the total to 37,700, shattering the previous record, Wednesday's 1,301, which topped the record of 1,138.

Twenty deaths were reported, putting  Missouri's death toll at 1,179.
