A bond hearing for a woman who was allegedly on meth when she drove a stolen vehicle through a busy intersection and killed a Joplin couple is scheduled for Wednesday, January 20 in Jasper County Circuit Court.
Rita Michelle Glasgow, 30, faces two felony counts of driving while intoxicated- deaths of two or more people, felony possession of a controlled substance and felony tampering with a motor vehicle.
Glasgow pleaded not guilty Monday during a video arraignment.
The probable cause statement says Glasgow admitted to police she was on meth when she drove a GMC Sierra into the intersection at 28th Street and Connecticut Avenue and crashed into an SUV, killing Terry Copple, 55, and Rhonda Copple, 48, of Joplin.
Glasgow, who is being held without bond in the Jasper County Jail, is also awaiting trial on two meth trafficking charges in Newton County Circuit Court. Her arrests in both of those cases followed vehicle pursuits by law enforcement.
