Becci Sanders' car found abandoned in Kentucky, person of interest in her murder still at large

Warren County, Kentucky deputies found the stolen 2015 Subaru Legacy belonging to murder victim Becci Sanders just outside of Bowling Green, according to a news release from the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

The car was taken from Sanders' home January 13, the day she was murdered.

The man who allegedly took the car, Justin Chase Stevens, 34, Cullman, Alabama, is still at large and is presumed to be armed and dangerous.

Stevens and the car were captured on surveillance video January 14 at a rest area on I-55, according to a probable cause statement on file in Jasper County Circuit Court. Stevens has been charged with two counts of felony stealing for the theft of the car and debit cards belonging to Sanders, 46, and her husband, Marshall Sanders.

Stevens had been in the Sarcoxie area since January 1 when he fled Alabama where he was under investigation for sex crimes against children, according to the probable cause statement.

Jasper County deputies discovered Sanders' body at her home at 2755 High Street in Sarcoxie when they responded to a medical call 8:58 p.m. January 13.
