All Missourians 18+ eligible for COVID-19 vaccine

(From the Springfield-Greene County Health Department)

Beginning today, all Missourians ages 18 and up can schedule an appointment for this week’s Mega Vaccine Clinic in Springfield. Phase 3, which extends vaccine opportunities to all Missouri adults, officially opens Friday, but those who have already registered on Missouri’s Vaccine Navigator program should receive an e-mail or text message from the Department of Health and Senior services later today to schedule an appointment for our upcoming mega event.

The mega event, hosted by the Springfield-Greene County Health Department, Missouri State University and area partners will take place at Hammons Student Center on the Missouri State campus on April 8-9, 2021. Individuals who fall into Phases 1 and 2 can schedule for either day. All other individuals should schedule their appointment for April 9.

Individuals who have not yet registered should do so by visiting Missouri’s Vaccine Navigator program at covidvaccine.mo.gov/navigator. Within 24 hours of registration, they will then receive the email from MO DHSS to schedule their appointment. Individuals must be 18+ and a resident of Missouri to schedule an appointment for the mega event.

We hope to vaccinate 10,000 people during the two-day event, which would be the largest single-site event to date in the State of Missouri. Participants will receive the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

We are extending our call center hours to assist with registration for this event. Individuals without internet access or who need assistance registering or scheduling an appointment can call the Health Department’s COVID-19 call center at (417) 874-1211 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with NEW extended hours this Tuesday-Thursday only from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. More information is available at Vaccine417.com.
