Neosho officials close Lime Kiln Park after drownings

The City of Neosho has closed Lime Kiln Park following two drownings.

In a news release issued earlier today, Neosho Police Chief Jason Baird said, "Effective immediately, Lime Kiln Park in Neosho will be closed until further notice. There will be no trespassing in the park. Violators are subject to prosecution."

Twelve-year-old Kaylin Brown was swept away by a strong current May 26. Trevor Hicks, 34, who attempted unsuccessfully to save her was pulled out of the water, but died later at Freeman West Hospital.

Brown's body was recovered May 30 by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
